Home Major T. Approves TRAINAIR®

The amazing story of a wheelchair user who has gained considerable benefit from using TRAINAIR®

During officer training at Sandhurst, Major T. took up regular jogging to help improve and maintain her fitness to the very high level required by the armed forces. Her interest in running increased enough to consider taking on the ultimate challenge, and it was during the period of training for the Berlin marathon that she suffered a devastating injury, leaving her with a high spinal cord injury.

Now confined to a wheelchair, Major T. uses TRAINAIR® to improve her fitness and respiratory function, and has now been training for three months.

During an informal chat, Major T. commented "TRAINAIR® gets the circulation going and gives me the feeling of having undertaken a good run. It is the only activity that I can do that has this effect".

(On a clinical note; recent studies have shown that in individuals with cervical spinal cord injury regular inspiratory muscle training may result in decreased restrictive ventilatory impairment and reported dyspnoea and, thus reduced incidence of chronic respiratory complaints).

Thank you Major T. for your story. If you are a TRAINAIR® user and would like your story published then please fill in the on-line enquiry form or alternatively contact the Sales Department.
