Pictured here is the winner, 9-year old Sophie Wood from County Durham, who received her award from TV personality Charlie Dimmock. Sophie has been a gymnast since she was five, and is currently ranked in the top twenty nationally, and third in the North of England. Well done Sophie!
The award ceremony, which was organised by the CF Trust, was both entertaining and educational. Dr David Bull (from BBC's Watchdog) hosted the event, and the awards were presented by famous celebrities including Jenny Agutter, Harry Enfield, Nicholas Parsons, Terry Waite, pop group A1, Watchdog's Kate Sanderson, John Lesley, Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, Mark Richardson the athlete, and Adrian Dickson from CBBC. Liberty X provided the music.
